Email Yang Tidak Diinginkan (spam dan scam)

Apakah anda sering menerima banyak pesan email dari orang yang tidak anda kenal? Tidaklah mengejutkan bila ya. Dengan makin banyaknya orang menggunakan email, para penjual semakin meningkat menggunakan pesan email untuk memasarkan produk dan layanan mereka. Beberapa konsumen mendapatkan email komersil yang tidak diminta – dikenal sebagai “spam” – mengganggu dan membuang waktu; yang lain telah banyak kehilangan uang pada penawaran palsu yang masuk ke inbox email mereka.

Ciri khasnya, seorang penipu email (spammer) membeli sebuah daftar alamat2 email dari daftar yang dimiliki oleh broker (perantara), yang dikumpulkannya dengan “memanen” alamat2 dari Internet. Bila alamat email anda muncul di newsgroup posting, di situs, di chat room, atau di layanan keanggotaan online, ada kemungkinan dari situlah didapatkan daftar2 alamat emailnya. Para penjual kemudian menggunakan peranti lunak khusus yang dapat mengirimkan ratusan, ribuan, bahkan jutaan pesan email ke alamat2 tersebut dengan hanya sekali klik.

Bagaimana mengurangi jumlah spam?

Usahakan tidak memperlihatkan alamat email anda kepada publik.

Periksa kebijaksanaan rahasia pribadi ketika anda mendaftarkan alamat email di sebuah situs. Bacalah dan pahami seluruh isi formulir sebelum mengirim informasi pribadi pada situs itu. Lihatlah bila situs itu punya opsi untuk tidak mengizinkan untuk menjual alamat email anda. Bila situs itu tidak bersedia menjaga kerahasiaan pribadi anda maka jangan mendaftar.

Atau gunakanlah dua alamat email; yang satu khusus untuk pesan pribadi, yang lain untuk newsgroup atau chat room atau lainnya.

Buatlah nama alamat email yang unik. Para spammer menggunakan “kamus” untuk menyortir kemungkinan kombinasi2 nama di Penyedia Layanan Internet (ISP) atau layanan email, dengan harapan mendapatkan alamat yang benar/sah. Maka nama2 umum seperti jdoe, ari, edi, dsb, akan dengan mudah menerima banyak spam ketimbang nama yang lebih unik seperti jd51x02oe, a98r45i, dst. Tentu saja ada sisi lemahnya, yaitu lebih sulit untuk mengingatnya.

Gunakan penyaring/filter email, sehingga setiap mendapatkan email yang seperti spam akan dimasukkan ke folder spam/bulk.

Apa yang harus dilakukan bila menerima Spam?

Laporkan ke ISP/layanan email anda, dengan mengirimkan copy dari seluruh isinya. Dengan melakukan hal itu membantu pihak ISP/layanan email untuk memblok/menghentikannya dikemudian hari.

Ajukan keluhan kepada ISP/layanan email yang mengirimkan spam tsb. Kebanyakan ISP/layanan email ingin menghentikan spammer yang merusak system mereka.

Bagaimana menghindari penipuan Spam?

Jangan pernah percaya akan janji dari orang yang tidak dikenal. Terimalah dengan sikap skeptis tentang kesempatan cara mendapatkan uang yang masuk ke inbox anda. Penipuan diatas adalah modus yang sudah lama ada, hanya saja dikirimkan melalui teknologi canggih.

Dibawah ini contoh umum penipuan:

“Surat berantai”

Surat berantai yang berhubungan dengan uang atau barang berharga dan janji mendapatkan pengembalian berlipat ganda adalah illegal. Bila anda memulainya atau mengirimkan satu surat maka anda melakukan pelanggaran hukum. Kemungkinannya adalah anda hanya akan menerima sedikit atau tidak menerima sama sekali uang yang anda investasikan itu. Walaupun anda klaim, protes, dsb, surat berantai takkan pernah menjadikan anda kaya.

Hampir semua orang menerimanya – surat berantai atau pesan email yang menjanjikan pengembalian besar dari investasi kecil. Janji2 itu termasuk keberuntungan yang tidak diduga, resep yang menggunung, atau lebih buruk, mendapatkan penghargaan finansial yang amat sangat besar dengan mengirim sedikitnya $5 (50rb) kepada seseorang pd sebuah daftar nama atau meneleponnya. Surat berantai yang paling sederhana terdiri dari daftar nama2 dan alamat, dengan instruksi untuk mengirim sesuatu – biasanya sejumlah kecil uang – kepada orang yang berada diurutan puncak daftar, memindahkan/menghilangkan nama itu dari daftar, dan mencantumkan nama anda diurutan terbawah. Kemudian menginstruksikan anda untuk mengirim banyak duplikat surat itu ke email2 tertentu dari orang lain, bersama dengan tatacara untuk bagaimana mereka harus “meneruskan surat berantai” nya. Teori dibalik surat berantai ini adalah begitu nama anda berada diurutan paling atas dari daftar, dengan banyak orang yang terlibat, anda akan dibanjiri dengan apapun yang dijanjikan surat berantai itu. Salah satu surat berantai yang terbaru yang beredar menjanjikan pendapatan $50,000 (ratusan juta rupiah) bahkan lebih dalam waktu 90 hari setelah mengirim email.

Apapun surat berantai yang anda terima, baik dari kantor pos atau email – khususnya yang menyangkut soal uang – FTC (Federal Trade Commision = Komisi Perdagangan Federal Amerika Serikat) mengingatkan anda bahwa:

*Surat berantai yang menyangkut uang atau barang berharga lainnya dan janji2 pengembalian besar adalah illegal. Bila anda memulainya atau mengirimkannya keseseorang, anda telah melanggar hukum.

*Kemungkinan anda menerima sedikit bahkan tidak menerima sama sekali uang yang diinvestasikan. Walaupun anda klaim atau tuntut, surat berantai tidak akan pernah menjadikan anda kaya.

*Beberapa surat berantai akan berusaha untuk meyakinkan anda bahwa mereka legal, bahkan mereka menyatakan didukung oleh Pemerintah/Bank. Tidak ada satupun yang benar.

“Iklan Skema Bekerja Di Rumah”

Tidak semua kesempatan “bekerja di rumah” memberi hasil sebagaimana janji mereka. Banyak iklan mengabaikan fakta bahwa justru anda harus bekerja berjam-jam tanpa bayaran. Atau mereka tidak merinci semua biaya yang anda keluarkan. Skema ini menuntut anda untuk mengeluarkan uang anda sendiri untuk memasang iklan di koran2, mambuat banyak fotokopi, membeli amplop, perangko, dan banyak alat2 lagi untuk melakukan pekerjaan itu. Belum lagi perusahaan yang menjadi sponsor iklan itu menuntut anda untuk membayar “buku petunjuk/instruksi” nya. Konsumen yang tertipu oleh iklan2 ini telah kehilangan jutaan rupiah uang mereka, belum lagi waktu dan tenaga mereka.

“Program Punurunan Berat Badan”

Program atau produk yang mempromosikan cara mudah dan singkat menurunkan berat badan tidak akan berguna. Menurunkan dan menjaga berat badan, membutuhkan latihan fisik dan perubahan permanen cara diet anda. Semua kesaksian dan garansi/jaminan di email anda tidaklah berharga untuk mengambil ruang di harddisk anda.

“Penawaran Penghapusan Kartu Kredit”

Abaikan penawaran untuk menghapus informasi negatif dari kartu kredit anda. Tidak ada yang resmi/legal untuk melakukan hal itu.

“Pinjaman Dimuka”

Hati2 terhadap janji untuk mendapatkan pinjaman, tanpa memperhatikan sejarah kredit anda yang lalu. Ingatlah, bank yang resmi tidak akan menerbitkan kartu tanpa mengecek kredit anda.

“Hiburan Untuk Dewasa.

Anda mungkin mendapatkan email dari situs hiburan untuk dewasa yang menawarkan “isinya” dengan gratis dan tidak memerlukan nomor kartu kredit untuk mengaksesnya. Yang anda lakukan hanyalah dowload program “viewer” atau “dialer” nya. Betapapun, begitu programnya terinstall di komputer anda, ia akan memutuskan koneksi Internet anda dan menyambungkannya kembali ke nomor panggilan international, dengan biaya antara 20rb hingga 70rb permenitnya. Selalulah bersikap ragu bila anda melihat kesempatan untuk melihat konten/isi/muatan “gratis” di situs.

Ada wanita 21th mengaku yatim piatu akibat seluruh keluarganya meninggal terhantam badai dan banjir bandang di Myanmar beberapa bulan yg lalu. Hanya doi yg selamat. Lalu dia menerima kabar bahwa pamannya (juga out dari dunia bersamaan dg ortunya itu) mendepositokan dana sebesar 10,8 juta dollar hasil usaha pengeboran minyak di Brunei. Pihak bank mensyaratkan harus ada orang yg berusia diatas 30th yg bisa mencairkan deposito itu. aku juga baru dapat email begtu,,,aku memenangkan hadiah lotre sebesar 1.500.000pound,,,n meraka memintakan alamat dan no hp,,,,q pikir itu betul2lan….aku kasih,,,setlah tu mereka memintakan uang untuk pengurusan berkas 1600pouud,,,,karna uang tdak bisa dicairkan kalao belum dikirim uangnya,,,uang atas nama q sudah dideposikon dibank swiss,,n mereka mengirimkan emial dan posword uantuk mengecek uang itu,,,uang tu ada tercantum dstu,,,,
tp mereka minta kirim uang,,,q bilang aja q g punya uang,,,,q bilang urus aja trus pake uang kamu,,,klau sudah cair akan q gntikan 2 kali lipat,,,hahaha
setelah tu g ad blasan lagi,,,,masak penipuan harus begtu2 aja,,,,,

saya jg punya pengalaman sama yg sekarang lagi saya jalanin, tp Alhamdulillah dia blm minta uang, tp sy pura pura aja ngga tau kalau dia penipu, saya masih ikutin permainannya rencananya saya yg mau minta duit sama dia dengan berbagai alasan biar kapok dia he he he….

Hummm…..makin canggih aja neh orang2 nipunya

Kebetulan saya juga menerima email yg persis dengan azizahzakiyyaha@yahoo.com (cewe 19 taun tajir gak keruan en lonely). Setelah saya respon beberapa kali email dari si cewe ini, tiba cewe2 ini kirim barang dan ketahan di kedubes..(lah kirim barang kok via kedubes) aneh…????. Kemudian saya dihubungi oknum yg mengaku pihak kedubes bahwa ada barang neh buat anda dan ujung2nya……..”minta biaya administrasi 2,8j” tiap harinya nambah 500 rebu klo gak diberesin….

hehehe…emang dunia informasi & komunikasi membawa kebaikan sekaligus keburukan, utk itu kita org indonesia, harus pintar2 menganalisa modus2 penipuannya. Saya sendiri juga sering di sms / di telp org2 afrika yg ngakunya sedang ada di jkt, mau kerjasama bisnis..? klo kita waspada, semua modus mereka itu tidak ada yg masuk akal kok.. kuncinya cuman 1, jangan tergiur uang gebokan..

Harap hati-hati kalau ada orang yang ajak join, ajak jadi partner usaha atau berlagak mau invest di Indonesia. Biasanya orang asing, bisa lewat Tagged, Friendster, Facebook atau situs-situs sejenis.
Mereka itu penipu…!
Mereka cuma mau uang kita, dengan berbagai tipuan yang menggiurkan kesannya.

Aku punya pengalaman, dua kali, tapi sayangnya usaha mereka nggak berhasil semua, karena selain ALLAH masih melindungi hambaNYA yang sederhana ini, juga karena cara-cara mereka sebetulnya nggak masuk di akal, nggak logis & mencurigakan, terutama kalau kita masih bisa pakai nalar kita dan nggak tergiur oleh trik-trik mereka.

Aku sharing aja ya ceritanya…

Yang pertama :
Ada orang yang kontak aku lewat Tagged, namanya HONORABLE ABDUL KABERUKA, ngakunya dari GABON.
Dia bilang kalau dia anak bekas pejabat di Gabon, bapaknya punya warisan 9,6 juta Dollar Amerika… Berapa puluh Milyar tuh kalau di Rupiah-in…??!!!
Tapi karena berbagai sebab dan masalah, dia nggak bisa cairkan warisan itu.
Harus ada orang lain dulu yang cairkan warisan itu untuk dia.
Nah… Dia lalu ajak aku untuk kerja sama, dia tunjuk aku sebagai orang yang bakal cairkan & terima warisan bapaknya itu, yang nantinya mau dibagi bersama sama dia.
Rencananya, dari 9,6 juta Dollar itu akan diberikan buat komisi aku 10%, lalu 50% buat investasi dan usaha di Indonesia, terserah aku katanya, mau usaha atau bikin bisnis apa aja di Indonesia, mau beli hotel terus dikelola kek, mau beli pom bensin terus dikelola kek, mau bisnis property kek, pokoknya terserah katanya.
Lalu sisanya 40% mau disimpan buat jaga-jaga, supaya keluarganya nggak kelaparan atau sengsara, katanya.
Lebih lanjut lagi, dia lalu kirim attachment email ke aku, Trust Agreement Form, semacam sertifikat perjanjian kepercayaan. Form itu tinggal aku print terus aku tandatangani lalu di scan dan kirim balik lagi ke dia, untuk diproses sama pengacaranya di sana.
Setelah itu, dia bilang kalau dia udah tunjuk seseorang sebagai wakilnya / diplomat yang akan mengurus masalah serah terima dana yang 9,6 juta Dollar itu.
Si ABDUL ini udah pasrahin segala urusannya ke diplomat yang ditunjuk itu, namanya RAHMAN.
Aku nanti tinggal ketemu sama diplomat itu di Jakarta, tanda tangan serah terima, terus terima dana 9,6 juta Dollar…cash…kontan.
Diplomat itu juga kontak nomor HP-ku dan bikin jadwal pertemuan di Jakarta sama aku.
Tapi…..
Nah, di sini baru kelihatan banget mencurigakannya, si RAHMAN itu bilang kalau aku harus siapkan uang cash sejumlah 4.500 Dollar Amerika, untuk keperluan biaya proses kliring atau pencairan dana yang 9,6 juta Dollar.

So, kalau misal aku ikutin terus permainan mereka sampai Jakarta & bener-bener bawa uang 4.500 Dollar, ya udah…! Ketipu deh…!
Uang 4.500 Dollar bakal lenyap tapi dana 9,6 juta Dollar tinggal impian.

Waktu itu aku stop sampai pembicaraan tentang cash 4.500 Dollar yang harus aku adakan itu, aku udah tahu belangnya jadi ya udah nggak aku follow up lagi.
Si RAHMAN sewot & marah-marah lewat telpon, katanya aku melewatkan & menyia-nyiakan kesempatan bagus untuk dapat dana hibah yang luar biasa.
Aku cuekin aja…

Yang kedua :
Ada orang yang ngakunya dari London, namanya DR.JUSTICE BERTO, dia kontak aku, juga lewat Tagged.
Dia bilang kalau dia tertarik waktu lihat profile-ku di Tagged, dia bilang kalau aku sepertinya adalah orang yang dia cari & cocok dengan filingnya.
Dia bilang tertarik mau invest di Indonesia dan butuh orang yang dia percayai untuk mengelola investasinya itu.
Dia mau kirim dana 3 juta Dollar ke aku.
10% dari 3 juta Dollar itu buat komisi aku, sisanya buat bikin bisnis di Indonesia.
Dia minta aku untuk kerja sama bisnis perhotelan, aku mau dijadiin partnernya.
Lalu dia minta aku untuk survey dan riset, apa sebaiknya bikin hotel dari awal atau beli aja hotel yang udah ada & jalan operasinya.
Kemudian, sama polanya kayak kasus pertama tadi, si JUSTICE ini juga kirim Trust Agreement Form lewat email untuk ditandatangani sama aku.
Cuma bentuk form-nya nggak sama kayak punya si ABDUL tadi, tapi intinya sama.
Kejadian selanjutnya ya nggak beda jauh kayak triknya si ABDUL, aku disuruh ketemu sama pengacaranya di Jakarta buat terima dana, nama pengacaranya ROBERT YUKON.
Sama kayak kasus ABDUL, si pengacara ini minta aku sediakan cash 2.500 Dollar untuk biaya proses kliring dana yang 3 juta Dollar itu.
Selanjutnya ya sama lah kayak cerita sebelumnya…

Alhamdulillah… ALLAH masih beri aku pikiran jernih sehingga aku masih waspada dan nggak tergiur begitu aja dengan iming-iming dan jutaan Dollar itu….
Alhamdulillah…

Sekarang, masih ada lagi nih satu orang London juga yang punya rencana mau invest dan ajak kerja sama aku, masih berlanjut sampai saat ini permainannya.
Dia mau invest 1,5 juta Dollar.
Aku diminta untuk jalanin investasinya dalam bentuk bisnis apa aja yang penting profit.
Saat ini dia masih dalam tahap minta data-data personalku buat keperluan bikin surat perjanjian atau semacamnya.
Masih aku ikutin terus permainannya, aku berlagak nggak curiga sama sekali, aku ikutin aja terus semua instruksinya…
Aku mau lihat sampai di mana nantinya…
